If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city for a relaxing weekend or a thrill-seeking adventure, then Hatta Dome Park is the perfect getaway for you. I recently visited dome park with a friend and was impressed with the facilities on offer. Read on to learn more!
Close to nature without giving up civilization
Situated close to the Hatta Wadi Hub in the UAE, the Hatta Dome Park delivers the thrill of camping outdoors without sacrificing the comforts of civilization. There are over 15 dome-like luxe tents with panoramic windows, a bed, and plush seating. Each dome tent can accommodate a maximum of two adults and three children (under 14 years old) and comes with an assortment of facilities to make your stay as comfortable and hassle-free as possible. The facilities include free Wi-Fi, wheelchair access, air conditioning, a TV, a mini bar, and a place to make tea and coffee.
If you are concerned about food, then no worries! Each tent had its barbeque pit if you brought your supplies. You can head out to the nearby tourist village, where there is a coffee shop and a great selection of food trucks like Al Yamm Cafe, Hatta Wild Cafe, Tanoor Restaurant, and Al-Hajarain.
What can you do at the park?
We were thoroughly impressed with what Dome Park had to offer because we only had to bring food supplies for the barbeque. We didn’t have to worry about setting up tents or anything else. We could do away with all the preparation time and focus on what we came here for: nature.
Our surroundings could not have been more picturesque and tranquil (save for the occasional dune buggy roaring in the distance!) Our dome was a short walk from the Wadi, so the first thing we did after checking in was to dump our bags in the room (which was cool and shady) to head out on the mountain trail towards the Wadi. The place is a hub of exciting, adrenalin-pumping activities, such as mountain biking, hiking, and paragliding. Unfortunately, we had just traveled, so we were content to go hiking.
We trekked along the winding wadis, around the foothills of the mountains. The terrain varied a lot, from sandy patches to sharp rocks, and it was a great way to unwind from the journey, spend time with friends, and of course, work up an appetite for dinner!
Dinner — The perfect night out!
We had dinner at our tent at the barbeque pit, which was the highlight of the trip. Having delicious food surrounded by serene mountains with a canopy of stars above our heads. The tents were spaced out quite well from each other, so it was just us in sight and was the perfect atmosphere for dinner. It was
perfect for catching up with old friends and relaxing.
After dinner, we returned to the dome tent and went to bed. It was perfect thanks to the panoramic windows. We had a great view of the night sky and stars, so it felt like we were sleeping outdoors as if we were one with nature. But we were also indoors, so we enjoyed the luxury of air conditioning and a plush comfortable bed.
We spent another day bike riding and paragliding before packing up and heading back to the city. It was a great trip because there was so much to do, but there was also room to relax and be one with nature. Whether you are looking for an adventure-laden trip or something more subdued or relaxing, the Hatta Dome Park will have something for everyone. We loved the unique shape and construction of the tents because they allowed us to enjoy the benefits of being both indoors and outdoors without sacrificing the benefits of either.
