VISITOR’S CENTRE
Honour Women – A Tribute To Elegance
A seductive white blossoms fragrance emerges from a short burst of Coriander, boosted by a drop of tart Rhubarb and iridescent Black Pepper. A narcotic Jasmine and the white corolla of a solar Gardenia cap the dramatic exuberance of a haughty and creamy Tuberose, distilling its peach accents in a forest of spicy Carnations, in the light of a translucent Lily of the Valley. A cascade of glittering flowers leads to a deep Ambery base, where Opoponax and Incense merge their balsamic warmth with a Leather and Vetiver harmony. Honour Woman is a Venusian tribute to Madame Butterfly’s fate, a dedication to poetry, beauty, and femininity.
Honour Woman starts with sweet and spicy green notes; it’s a quiet and gentle start for an Amouage smell, but it’s still lovely. The beginning is chilled, and a hint of menthol may be detected in the background. Rhubarb leaves add a green, pollen-like sourness to the top notes, which balances off the sweetness.
The blooms in the center are so skillfully integrated that each flower reveals its own element at various points throughout Honour Woman’s growth. Jasmine’s dry green, tuberose’s hot rubberiness, gardenia’s mushroomy coolness, and lily of the valley’s sharp sweetness all appear independently, but when combined, they create a gorgeous floral creaminess that has this perfumista’s nose pressed firmly on his wrist.
Sunshine Women – Floral
Sunshine for Woman is like a beam of sunshine smiling onto a bouquet of white florals, a lovely moment of bliss. Sunshine is the first scent in Amouage’s new Midnight Flower Collection, and it’s an Eau de parfum developed by Sidonie Lancesseur under Christopher Chong’s guidance, according to CaFleureBon. It was first distributed in restricted quantities in 2014, first in the Middle East, and then in portions of Europe and Australia later that year. It became accessible in America and across the world on March 2nd.
Sunshine is not the summer fragrance one expects. Where so many stick to the familiarity of zesty citrus or aquatic colognes, Sunshine is not one of these fragrances it’s as far removed from the often wishy-washy style of summer scents that it feels like something else entirely. Perhaps more interesting though, is the fact that Sunshine feels very out of the ordinary for Amouage, and where the brand is used to opulent and symphonic creations, this one feels a little bit more paired back, and a lot softer.
It would also make a fantastic comfort perfume in the dead of winter when the body and mind both desire a little sunshine.
